Carbon Market Academy (ICMA) 2: Build Your Own Carbon Project – Series 1 “Understanding Indonesia’s Carbon Market”

As Indonesia embarks on its mission in producing high quality and high integrity carbon market to the world, stakeholders in the carbon market ecosystem must be able to comprehend and navigate the fundamentals of carbon market systematically to have an effective and globally competitive carbon market. These fundamentals include regulatory clarity, a transparent and accountable registry system, strong market integrity, a supply of high-quality carbon projects, continuously growing market demand, and enhanced capacity of stakeholders across the carbon market ecosystem.

Indonesia Carbon Market Academy (ICMA) is one of the Indonesian Business Council’s (IBC) flagship programs. It is a capability building program for prime movers in Indonesia’s carbon market ecosystem which targets private sector as carbon credit suppliers and/or buyers, central and local governments who are shaping the Country’s carbon market. Through a well-designed practical series of training courses, ICMA addresses current global and national policy, market dynamics, integrating carbon business as well as special assistance for IBC members who wish to develop high quality and high integrity carbon project(s).

ICMA 2 consists of 2 (two) series of training courses led by the industry’s leading experts. Series 1: Understanding Indonesia’s Carbon Market will be taught by the following speakers and the relevant topics:

  • Session 1: “Toward a Credible and Investable Carbon Market: Indonesia’s Strategic Path Forward”, Masyita Crystallin (ICGD Board Member)
  • Session 2: “Lessons Learned from the Implementation of Global and Indonesian Carbon Markets”, Edo Mahendra, Executive Chairperson of the Indonesia Energy Transition Implementation Joint Office and Principal Advisor to the Minister of Forestry
  • Session 3: “Understanding Carbon Price”, Agus P. Sari, Chief Executive Officer Landscape Indonesia
  • Session 4: “Integrating Carbon Business into Decision Making”, Kazeem Khan, General Manager APAC Nature Based Solutions Shell
